Last year, I was very honoured to be one of the first inductees into the Ontario Blind Sports Association hall of fame.
I was inducted for my time as a competitive swimmer.
Although the popularity of and knowledge of disabled sports is increasing, athletes with disabilities still don’t get the recognition that non disabled athletes do.
I really admire and thank the Ontario Blind Sports Association for their amazing efforts and work to remedy this.
Kyle and Greg also appeared on our show last winter.
The link is still in the show archives and can be found in a post in this blog.
Here is the information about the gala.

Please join us!
What?: Second annual OBSA Hall Of Fame Gala! We have a great night planned with a delicious plated meal (chicken and beef or vegetarian option), fabulous auction items, live entertainment and each attendee will receive a GoodLife bag of goodies.
Where?: Delta Armouries, London, ON
When?: Saturday, November 1st, 2014
Cost?: Only $95.00 per person or $85 for members!
Why?: The Hall Of Fame Gala will honour our blind/visually impaired athletes, coaches and sport builders who are so deserving of recognition. Unlike sighted athletes, blind athletes and those who support them receive very little acknowledgement of what they have accomplished. Our goal is to change this. Each year we induct an individual in each of these categories: Athlete, Coach and Sport Builder.
Your attendance will help support the development of blind sports all over the province!
We hope you can join us for this amazing event and help celebrate some phenomenal inductees.
